Fusion Youth services is committed to running a variety of developmental and skill-based programs in schools within the Blacktown and Penrith LGA’s. Fusion Youth works closely with key school staff including Welfare Advisors to help young people achieve their potential educationally and developmentally.

Real Girls

The Real Girls program provides support to young girls in Year 8. It provides the opportunity for girls to explore issues of value, meaning and purpose and addresses healthy relationship and lifestyle matters. The program aims to grow participants’ self awareness and confidence, strengthening friendships and educational engagement so that social isolation and risk taking behaviours are minimised. Outcomes include:

– Building resilience and self-esteem
– Education on diversity and healthy relationships
– Communication and conflict resolution skills


Drumbeat is a therapeutic music program developed by Holyoake Institute in Western Australia and adopted by Fusion Youth Services as part of their normal service delivery. Drumbeat combines the benefits of music therapy using drums, with cognitive behavioural therapy so that young people can learn social skills that promote healthier relationships. Outcomes include:

– Social skills and emotional awareness
– Building positive relationships and teamwork
– Self-esteem and confidence
– Public school performance

My School Matters

My School Matters Program gives young people an opportunity learn about leadership, discover more about themselves and how to positively interact with others. Young people learn skills, gain confidence and reflect on what gives their life meaning and purpose. Young people are given opportunities to put what they have learned into practice as they help to plan an outreach project for their school. Outcomes include:

– Development in leadership and communications skills
– Inspiration to make a difference in school and community
– Putting skills to use in event planning

Rock and Water

Rock and Water is a pscho-physical social competency training program developed by the Gadaku Institute and adopted by Fusion Youth Services as part of our normal service delivery. Rock and Water combines the benefits of physical education using self defence techniques, alongside reflective discussion so that young people can learn social skills that promote self-awareness and increase their capacity for respectful relationships. Outcomes include:
-Improved self awareness and management
-Discipline & responsibility
-Self defence techniques
-Respecting others
